Bebe Bella Designs is the creation of our founder Melissa Coffin in 2006. Our
company name is a combined adaptation from the French expression for a newborn
child, "bebe", and the Italian "bella" denoting beauty. Even
our logo is designed as an expression of simple elegance. This combination of
meaning and design embodies the essence of Bebe Bella Designs.
Originally born from the repeated suggestion of selling the generously sized
receiving blankets our founder had given as gifts, Bebe Bella Designs continues to
grow around the "feel of fashion". All of our products are made from the finest
fabrics to ensure that wonderful feeling of luxurious comfort. Our design selection
has something for those who want simple elegance, the latest trends, or something in
between.
Fairy Tale Version
Once upon a time in a land made of ultra plush minky and slippery smooth satin, there was a young girl named
Bella. Now, Bella was not your ordinary girl, she was given a very special gift of creativity by and the creativity
would come in useful to her throughout her life. See Bella loved her minky tree, the touch, the texture and the
undeniable need to cuddle in its ‘scraps’ that fell every fall.
One day while playing outside in the ‘scraps’ of the minky tree, Bella thought to herself, why don’t I try making
myself a blanket out of ‘scraps’ hanging from the tree, this way I could snuggly with the minky anytime of day I
wanted. Bella started pulling ‘scraps’ down and got to work. Her friends watched her and wondered in
curiosity what she was doing. A day later Bella had herself her very own minky blanket that she carried
everywhere. Jealous that Bella had such an amazing, ultra soft blanket, her friends pleaded with Bella for one.
Bella started to make blankets, one after another for her friends until one day she noticed that the ‘scraps’ on
the minky tree where almost gone and there was not enough ‘scraps’ to make another blanket.
Sad because she couldn’t make anymore cozy blankets for her friends, Bella weeps and Bebe comes to here
side. “What’s wrong Bella?” questioned Bebe “How am I suppose to make more people these wonderful
blankets, when the ‘scraps’ are almost gone on the minky tree?” asked Bella with a tear streaming down her
face“Bella, this minky tree is special. It has a unique gift just like you,” stated BebeBella confused looked at
Bebe and asked, “What do you mean? The minky tree has the gift of creativity too?” “No silly,” giggled Bebe,
“The minky tree is a giving tree and will only sprout more ‘scraps’ if you create different items, not just the same
items over and over again,” Bebe told Bella. At that very moment, Bella realized what she needed to do.
Eager for the giving minky tree to grow more scraps, Bella started designing different products for her friends.
She started designing different sizes of blankets but realized she shouldn’t stop there. So Bella started to
design, hats, mittens, scarves, pillowcases and much, much more. The more Bella’s designs grew the more
“scraps” the minky tree produced. When she noticed the minky tree grew with the more designs she created,
Bella knew why she was given the gift of creativity, it was to create amazing designs from the minky tree.
